Lovely Surprise Makes Kathy Smile
The first lucky smile entry to be picked from the weekly ‘lucky dip’ draw, held as part of Lindsey Lodge Hospice’s Smile campaign, is a grinning winner.
Kathy Hunt, of Cherry Orchard, Epworth, won a meal for two at the Sutton Arms, Scawby, near Brigg. The meal was donated by Maureen Almey, hospice volunteer and owner of the Sutton Arms.
The Sutton Arms is just one of a number of businesses supporting the Smile campaign, with vouchers for lucky smile prizes.
Kathy said: “It was a lovely surprise to win. When I entered online it was to support the hospice. Entering my smile and making my donation was so easy. I just followed the instructions.
“My picture was taken on holiday.
“Smile is such a great idea and I’m pleased to be part of it.”
The campaign is urging people to donate digital photographs online and donate a minimum of £2 towards hospice costs.
Head of fundraising, Mel Banham, said: “Each week of the campaign, until it ends on May 21, we will randomly select a smile donated online.
“The lucky smile owner will win a prize donated by one of many local businesses which are supporting Smile in this way.”
Smile has the support of Brigg-based accountants TurnerWarren, Smile website designer Edge Interactive, Towergate Charitable Foundation and the 20/21 Visual Arts Centre.
Education Resource Limited has also jumped on board the Smile campaign.
