Steve Goes For A Song!
Natwest manager Steve Brundell put himself up for auction – to help raise money for the Prince’s Trust.
The initiative by Steve, who is senior business manager with the bank in Brigg, was part of the Prince’s Trust Million Makers appeal.
Business and commercial teams at RBS/NatWest in the region agreed to take part in the appeal, which challenges teams of employees across the UK to raise a minimum of £10,000.
The trust gives practical and financial support to young people up to the age of 30, helping develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling them to move into work, education or training.
Steve auctioned himself off to go and work for a day at a customer’s premises.
He was “won” in the auction by Kevin Turner, managing partner of Brigg and Scunthorpe accountants and business advisers TurnerWarran, to work in the business for one day.
Steve said: “It was enjoyable and I spent my time on administration.”
A sum of £100 was raised from the day and the team in the region has so far raised more than £2,000.
Local branches of the bank are also holding a Christmas raffle to raise further funds, with the draw on December 16.
